MORGAN HILL, Calif., December 3, 2024 – Enteligent Inc., a developer of solar power optimization and electric vehicle (EV) solar charging technologies, has been named a finalist in two categories for the prestigious 26th annual S&P Global Platts Global Energy Awards. The company is recognized in the Emerging Technology of the Year and the Rising Star Company categories.

The Emerging Technology of the Year category highlights new technologies or significant advancements to exiting solutions that demonstrate strong financial potential while promoting the sustainable energy transition. Enteligent was selected for its application of DC-coupled electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) architecture to long-dwell-time EV fleet charging. This solution leverages the inherent efficiency and reliability of DC technology, which is naturally compatible with renewable sources like solar, wind, and battery storage, to deliver 20-30% energy savings by eliminating the need for DC-to-AC-to-DC conversions.

Enteligent’s fleet charging solution utilizes a DC microgrid using a commercial-scale inverter with integrated DC photovoltaic (PV) solar generation and battery storage, reducing AC/DC conversion losses and lowering infrastructure costs. Optimized for overnight fleet charging, Enteligent’s chargers are easier to deploy than the traditional AC-based infrastructure because they reduce engineering planning and permit waiting times and lower both overall installation expenses and total cost of ownership. The chargers also provide bidirectional power flow, enabling mission-critical backup power to facilities during outages and electrical rate savings through virtual power plant participation with utilities.

The Rising Star Company category recognizes businesses that are establishing themselves as a key player in any energy or chemical discipline, including investment, finance and trade. Enteligent was selected not only for its development of DC-coupled EVSE, but also for its rooftop solar technologies that increase PV solar power’s accessibility and affordability. By empowering solar installers with a competitive edge, Enteligent helps maximize rooftop coverage at lower costs, enhancing homeowners' returns on solar investments.

In a North American rooftop solar market dominated by two players which control over 80% of installation with feature-dominant integrated solutions, numerous smaller PV inverter companies vie for the remaining 20%.
